Three men arrested, charged with multiple drug crimes

The Lackawanna County police recently arrested three men returning to Pennsylvania from New Jersey and seized a significant amount of illegal drugs. The arrests were the culmination of an investigation into possible drug crimes committed by one of the three men and they resulted in criminal charges being lodged against each of the three.

Jury acquits mother of homicide by vehicle

A Montgomery County jury has acquitted a woman from Lower Merion of the felony charge of homicide by vehicle. The case involves a number of criminal allegations that demonstrate the variety of criminal charges that can be spawned by a single accident that involves allegations of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Scranton employee pensions spark investigation

As more and more states and cities face funding crises with their employee pension plans, the city of Scranton is under investigation for giving sweetened pensions to six former employees who may not have been eligible for the extra benefits. The case is under independent investigations by the Pennsylvania State Police and the State Auditor General. In addition, the city's non-uniform pension board has retained an attorney to investigate the allegations.
