Accused sex offender faces numerous charges of sexual assault

A Hanover Township resident who reportedly has a history of domestic abuse was recently arrested and charged with numerous crimes in connection with his alleged abuse of a 16-year-old girl over the last six years. The alleged sexual assault was reported to police by the girl’s mother after the girl reportedly told her how the man had repeatedly assaulted her from age 10 to the present.

Controlled purchases, search warrant lead to 3 drug arrests

Two of the most useful tools for law enforcement officers in dealing with suspected drug crimes are controlled purchases and search warrants. Both were recently used by Lackawanna County detectives to arrest three persons on charges of having committed various drug-related crimes.

Incidental search leads to discovery of alleged meth lab

Police are sometimes authorized to conduct a search incidental to a lawful arrest if they have reasonable grounds to believe that they will find evidence of criminal activity. A recent arrest and search of this nature in Lackawanna County led to discovery of an alleged laboratory for manufacturing methamphetamine and the possibility of the defendant being charged with one or more drug crimes.
